Responsibilities:
The Laboratory Technical Assistant will work Full Time, Various Shifts & Weekends and will act as the primary contact for laboratory customer inquiries, requests, and communication.
The Laboratory Technical Assistant triages calls as appropriate, provides courteous, prompt and complete follow up to customer inquiries and communications.
The Laboratory Technical Assistant assists assigned section by performing duties that do not require NYS license, as requested.
The Laboratory Technical Assistant completes patient registrations, maintains appropriate databases and distributes reports, as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education/
Qualifications:
An Associates degree in Laboratory or science-related field required or High school diploma OR equivalent with an additional 2 years laboratory experience (work or school) will be considered.
Experience:
One year pertinent laboratory experience required (work or school) will be considered.
Licensure/Certificates:
MLT license is preferred.
Skills:
Excellent interpersonal, communication and telephone skills.
Critical thinking and problem solving skills.
Able to use Microsoft Word, Excel and similar programs.
Able to adapt to using other computer systems (EPIC, GE).
Must be able to multi-task as well as able to handle a high volume of work accurately.
Must be able to work independently.
Must be able to prioritize work and write clearly.
Physical Requirements:
Position requires extensive standing, walking and bending during the entire shift.
Must be able to push/pull and lift supplies/reagents/equipment less than 50 lbs Must be able to identify and differentiate colors.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
