Patient Support Service Associate

The Patient Support Services Associate is the "Face of Bassett" to patients and visitors. It is essential that outstanding service, friendliness, a strong desire to help, and a willingness to make decisions that put the needs of our patients, visitors, and colleagues first, be the foundation of this position. The Patient Services Support Associate is under the supervision of Patient Support Services, and is responsible for the timely, accurate, safe and effective transfer of patients throughout the hospital complex, and the tracking, coordination, and delivery of relative equipment throughout the hospital. Has an understanding and adheres to all safety and infection control policies and procedures as related to the carry out of job related duties. The goal is to provide a safe and pleasant atmosphere for patients, physicians, staff and other clients. The Patient Services Support Associate is part of the Patient Support Services Team and provides assistance in other duties as assigned by Bed Management and Call Center colleagues. This positions is responsible for assisting where needed to help keep a constant workflow.
Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
Customer Service experience desired
Excellent communication and organization skills are required as is customer service, friendliness and an enjoyment of people.
The ability to push and pull stretchers, wheelchairs, and beds to the appropriate areas with and without patients
Physical Requirements:
Working indoors, walking, standing, and lifting comprise a significant portion of the workday
Must be able to lift, position, push, and/or transfer patients into wheelchairs or beds and must be in good physical condition
Lifting/Carrying/Pushing/Pulling/Walking (various equipment, patients, belongings)
o 50lbs to 75lbs constant needs (66% to 100% of the time)
o 25lbs to 50 lbs constant to occasional need (33% to 66% of the time)
o 1lb to 25lbs constant need (66% to 100% of the time)
Comprehension of safety requirements while handling patients, equipment and cleaning chemicals
Must be able to work in a fast-paced and customer service oriented environment
Performs duties under pressure and meets patient care needs in a timely manner
Works as part of a team as well as completes assignments independently
Must be able identify and differentiate colors.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
