Team Leader Central Lab Processing(Job Id 861)

Summary:
The Central Laboratory Processing (CLP) Team Leader coordinates the daily activities of the Outpatient Lab and CLP while providing leadership for the section. Performs and handles problems regarding specimen registration, collection, receiving, processing, reporting and reference lab functions of the section. Assists with the selection of staff, provides training and assesses competency for CLP staff. Assists in the development of policies and procedures for the CLP section. Assures CLP processes support the quality and technical needs of the clinical department and regulation.
Minimum Requirements:
Education/Qualifications:
An Associate?s degree is required with a major in science preferred
Associate?s degree in a technology, engineering or mathematics field may be considered
Experience:
One year of pertinent laboratory experience required
Licensure/Certificates :
Licensure by NYS SED as a Clinical Laboratory Technician is preferred, or licensure-eligible with a limited permit or limited license as a Clinical Laboratory Technician preferred.

Skills:
Excellent interpersonal, communication and telephone skills are required.
Able to use Microsoft Word and Excel programs.
Able to adapt to using other computer programs (HIS, LIS).
Must be able to multi-task as well as able to handle a high volume of work accurately.
Must be able to prioritize work and write clearly.
Physical Requirements:
Position requires extensive standing, walking, and bending during the entire shift.
Must be able to push/pull and lift supplies/reagents/equipment less than 50 lbs
Must be able to identify and differentiate colors.

Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and possesses the ability to respond to specific issues and data reflective of the patient's status. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide for the primary populations of patients served in the department, as follows:_ Neonate (birth to 28 days), Adolescent (12 to 18 years),_Infant (28 days to 1 year), Adult (18 to 65 years),Child (1-12 years), Geriatrics (65 years to death)

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
