Summary:
The scribe is responsible for being present during the provider?s performance of a clinical visit and documenting (on behalf of the provider) everything said during the course of the visit. The scribe will be expected to document using EMR and perform additional assigned tasks aimed at increasing provider?s efficiency and productivity.
Education:
A Highschool Diploma or GED
Associate of Arts preferred
Other information:
2 years of relevant work experience with at least one year in a medical office environment.
Associates degree or higher may be substituted for one year of relevant work experience.
Experience using the Epic ambulatory electronic medical record is preferred.

Capable of using effective oral and written communication
Accurate comprehension required
Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
Excellent customer service skills
Able to interact in a balanced, fair manner with others
Able to understand and interpret Medical Terminology
Must be able to set and adjust priorities
Solid foundation in computer skills required
Ability to follow written protocols and verbal directions
Ability to work with individuals internal/external to BMC

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
